In Civilization 4, there are 18 civilizations and 26 leaders (8 of the civilizations have two leaders). Warlords added 6 new civilizations as well as 10 leaders (1 for each of the new civilizations, and 4 additional ones for civilizations in Civilization 4). I ran Civilization 3 with regular wine, but was immediately given a messagebox that said 'no civilization III installation detected'. I figured this was a registry problem, and it was. If there are no civilizations with 25% land or population, then the civilization with the highest score becomes the second candidate. If a civilization gains a majority of the votes in the election, they become Secretary General and win a diplomatic victory! If not, the election is inconclusive.

I was having issues getting civ 6 to launch. I made a ticket. Just incase anyone else is having the same issues heres the reply I got that helped me resolve the issues as I am now able to play the game

I have a few troubleshooting suggestions which will ensure that all supplementary software is installed correctly. Please, follow each of them in the order they are presented:

Verifying Game Cache · Load Steam. · From the Library section, right-click on the game and select “Properties” from the menu. · Select the “Local files” tab and click the “Verify integrity of game cache” button. · Steam will match the local files to the cloud files, and fix any errors it encounters.

Reinstalling DirectX · In the Steam installation folder of the game you’re having trouble with, there will be typically be a DirectX setup package. · Example file path: C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSid Meiers Civilization VI_CommonRedistDirectXJun2010
· Find and run DXSETUP.exe · Reboot the computer (mandatory)

Reinstalling Vcredist · Navigate to your game’s Steam folder – there will typically be a Vcredist folder. · Example file path: C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSid Meiers Civilization VIvcredist_CommonRedist2012 · Find and Run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe · Should the files already be installed, you will be prompted to either ‘uninstall’ or ‘repair’. Choose ‘repair’. · Reboot the computer (mandatory)

Afterward, do the same for those located in the 2015 folder. Ex: : C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSid Meiers Civilization VIvcredist_CommonRedist2015

It was the last part that allowed me to play the game, repairing the vcredist things.

If there's already a post like this somewhere, and this is redundant, then please remove it (or Ill remove it myself)
