Using uTorrent back in the day was a little hit or miss when it came to adjusting or tweaking settings to improve download speeds. Over the years, however, the need for such setting tweaks has diminished to the point where uTorrent, comes nearly optimized right out of the box. How to optimize torrent speeds. Optimizing µTorrent (or BitTorrent) For Speed Introduction. This guide shows how to speed up downloads in the freeware bittorrent client. Choosing A Proper Port. To avoid messing up a network connection that is already cleared. Forwarding The Port. A router will block incoming communications. The best way to optimize your Upload rate is to use Speedtest.net, note your Upload rate, and set QBittorrent’s settings accordingly. When you’re in Speedtest.net, you should click “Settings” in the upper right corner and change the Speed to Kbps instead of Mbps. This will help us calculate better. Hi all, On a beautiful new (well, nearly new) Thinkpad X230, i5-3320M, 8GB Kingston HyperX, SATA Crucial M500, and MSATA Crucial M500 (Both 240GB) I've owned an X61, X61s, X200, T61 and T400 in the past and absolutely love thinkpads to bits.
Now, I've been trying to get my drives encrypted but am having a few issues. Crucial advertise the drive as being hardware encrypted (SED - Self Encrypting Drive) and OPAL compliant which would be great if I only used Windows, I could use something like Wave Embassy or similar. However, I plan to triple or quad boot various OSs as I will be studying Computer Science, hence the overkill in SSDs.
Does anyone have any experience with the X230 and SED drives, especially the Crucial ones? I ask here because Crucial themselves have yielded nothing and there might be something Lenovo support that I'm missing.
Thanks in advance.
